Yarnpond
| Job type | Test knit |
| Description | A simple, flattering top, knitted from the front up, over and down the back, with an added band at the hem and graduating stripes from the bust/chest up to a round neck. Knitted overall in linen stitch, the resulting stretchy fabric does not curl and has a smooth, 'woven' look. Stripes on the flutter sleeves mirror in reverse the colours of the stripes on the body. Starting from the top of the armhole, the sleeve stitches are picked up and increased along the armhole edge as you go, creating a flared curve. The sleeve does not go all the way around the armhole. Draped over the shoulder sits a sweet little tiger worked in cross stitch. The cross stitch area is reinforced with tear-away stabiliser underneath. Detailed instructions are included, and there is additional support for all the techniques used in this garment in the form of videos on my website (and of course any questions you have may also be answered by email). This is my first knitting pattern that I have graded into multiple sizes, so I am very keen to see how it goes. I am interested in eventually getting my patterns to be as size inclusive as possible, while accepting that until I have tested a few, I have to start somewhere. The pattern differs from the sample only in that I have created a shaped armhole instead of just a slit. Sizes in my patterns are represented by emoji. Find the size that best corresponds to body of the intended wearer and follow that symbol throughout the pattern. Instructions are included in the pattern to add an optional extra 4.5 cm over the bust to accomodate those with a bust size that is generally larger than their overall size. Choose the size that best fits everything other than your bust. Similarly, instructions are included for those with the opposite type of figure, ie a larger hip to overall body ratio. For this body type, start with the size that will best fit your hips. You will then be decreasing above the hips to the next size down (and increasing as you go back down the back to the hips).
