Top-down, heel-flap and gusset socks written for leftover scraps. Hold three strands of yarn together to get the equivalent of Aran weight. Fade out yarns as you choose!

Leg features stockinette and reverse stockinette bands. 

Sizes (sock circumference)

Choose a size 0-1”/0-2.5 cm smaller than actual foot circumference, as holding yarn tripled makes fabric less stretchy.

1: 5.25”/13.5 cm

2: 6.25”/16 cm

3: 7”/18 cm

4: 7.75”/19.5 cm

5: 8.5”/21.5 cm

6: 9.25”/23.5 cm

Yarn (includes 15% buffer) NOTE: This is the estimated yardage for TWO socks. You only need to knit ONE sock to complete this test.

330 (405, 495, 645, 755, 870)yards/ 302 (370, 452, 590, 690, 795) m fingering weight scrap yarn

Changing yarn colors (can use any preferred method)

Knit, Purl, Slip 

K2tog, SSK, P2tog decreases

Picking up stitches on the side of a heel flap

1 stitch marker

Stitch holder or waste yarn for instep

Tapestry needle and scissors

NOTE: This test is for ONE sock. If you want to knit two socks and have them match, I recommend you knit them in parallel (a few rounds on one, a few rounds on the other). If you do this, you will need 2 stitch markers and 2 stitch holders.

PROGRESS UPDATES: Please post in the Yarnpond chat tab for this test at least once per week, even if you have made little progress. I check Yarnpond at least once a day, usually in the morning before I go to work (Eastern time) and will try to answer any questions ASAP.

FEEDBACK: This test has a feedback form - you must complete it to be considered done with the test. The feedback will ask about final estimated yardage, so be prepared to provide that information.

PHOTOGRAPHS: Please take good photos of your finished and blocked item, modeled on a human foot or sock blocker. Photo quality is important! Natural light is best.

SOCIAL MEDIA: If you are a member of Ravelry and are able to use it at this time, please create a Ravelry page during the test and put test code TEST-KK-R3QHMJ in the pattern name. You may put photos on your Ravelry page, but pleast do not post on any other social media until you receive word that the pattern has been released. Pattern is scheduled for release on December 12, 2021. 

RATINGS: You may have seen that testers can earn star ratings on Yarnpond. When I am rating testers, I give 5-star ratings testers who complete the test on time, follow testing instructions (particularly about modifications), fill out the feedback form in full (including exact yardage used), and create a Ravelry project and link their test as instructed. If there is a reason you cannot meet these standards (for example, you don’t use Ravelry), please let me know before the end of the test; otherwise, I cannot give a 5-star rating. Thanks!
