I learned to knit because I didn’t want to be someone who could only crochet. Then I designed and knit 50 sweaters in college, until I had to choose between typing papers and knitting because of carpal tunnel syndrome. A rather long knitting hiatus followed.
In 2009 a friend committed suicide. My husband gave me some alone time by sending me to the book store without kids and urging me to eat something yummy and buy books. The local knitting club was holding a meeting in the coffee shop, and one lady was working a two yarn selvage intriguingly. She also told me about Ravelry. I remembered that I wanted to know how to write up my patterns so that they would make sense to other people. There was such a thing as tech editors! People were willing to test knit patterns! Who knew?
Most of my life is not that dramatic. My designs are usually the sanest application of a crazy technique. I usually start from tweaking stitches or constructions. You can sign up for my newsletter for a free coupon for your choice of any of my patterns. I love hearing about what you are working on or designing.
